While the 80/20 rule may apply to weight loss, cardio is essential for good health.

Meet Jennifer Insel, MS, RDN

Jennifer’s road to becoming a premier registered dietitian nutritionist in New York began at a young age, learning from her father, the rare Cardiologist who truly practices what he preaches. Fast forward, she went on to receive her undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also electively took nutrition courses from their top ranked Nursing School.

Jennifer continued her career working for Affiliated Physicians, in its’ Corporate Wellness and Flu Shot program. During this time, she took post-baccalaureate courses in Nutrition and the Sciences. Shortly thereafter, she was accepted into the comprehensive Master’s Program in Clinical Nutrition, Food Studies and Public Health at New York University. While at NYU, Jennifer volunteered under the Clinical Nutrition Manager in the Dietetics department at Lenox Hill Hospital. In addition, she took Nutrition Counseling electives, taught Nutrition Education to under-served children and had an eye-opening, life-changing experience while studying the Mediterranean Diet in Italy.

Furthermore, throughout Jennifer’s career and studies, she has utilized her Communications background to write about current issues in nutrition, fitness, health and immunity. She also gained nutrition focused media expertise from various nutrition-related start-ups she worked at throughout her time in graduate school.

In addition to her Masters in Clinical Nutrition, Food Studies and Public Health, Jennifer is a certified Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Health and Nutrition (IIN), obtained certification from Kerri Glassman’s The Nutrition School (TNS) and completed her Dietetic Internship through Wellness Workdays to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

Jennifer is extremely affable, non-judge mental and easy to talk to.
